Photography – Italy

In the Fall of 2005, I took my first trip to Europe; my aunt and I traveled together to Rome and spent two weeks there (we also visited several other towns in Italy during that trip). That was the first of a few trips we took together to Europe, the last being in the Summer of 2009 when we traveled to Spain (Barcelona) and Austria (Vienna and Salzburg).

We both took many photographs on our trips, of course. Some of our photographs from Rome are published in the reprinting of The Pilgrim’s Guide to Rome’s Principal Churches. 🙂

I thought it might be fun to put up a series of posts containing pictures from our various trips, so, here is the first: Photography – Italy (2005 trip). Some of these pictures were taken by me, some were taken by my aunt. A few memorable moments from this trip: visiting the four major basilicas in Rome, ascending the Sancta Scala on our knees, climbing the stairs to the top of the dome of St. Peter’s (what a fantastic view!), and attending a general audience of Pope Benedict XVI.

Enjoy!
