Photography – Spain

In the summer of 2009 my aunt and I traveled to Spain; we spent time mostly in Barcelona but we also visited Montserrat – that was fantastic! Pilgrims must take a cable-car up the mountainside to reach the monastery at the top. The trip up the side of the mountain was spooky for sure, but reaching the top was worth it.

In Barcelona we spent some time at La Sagrada Familia; the architecture – by Gaudí – was interesting for sure, although in general I prefer more of a Baroque or Rococo style.

In Barcelona we almost had our pockets picked! We were walking down a side street off of La Rambla and I happened to look in the window of a store next to us only to see – in the reflection – two guys following us way_too_closely. Immediately I – loudly – said to my aunt, “We should cross the street. Right now.” We did, and when we reached the other side we stood on the sidewalk looking back at the two guys. I sort of stared them down. I think they realized we were onto them. They spoke to each other briefly then turned and walked back the opposite way. Whew! 🙂
