By the Streams of YouTube We Sat and Wept

By the Streams of YouTube

A Psalm of Baritone, when public Masses were canceled. (See Psalm 136).

By the streams of YouTube we sat and wept,

When we remembered Holy Mass:

On our couches, in the midst of our homes, our voices fell silent.

For they who held us captive required of us the use of masks.

And they who led our churches said:  Sing not the hymns of Sion and enter no more than ten.

How is the house of the Lord become a strange land?

If thou remember not my soul, O bishop, let my right hand forget thy collection box.

Let my tongue again receive, that I may make Holy Communion the beginning of my joy.

Remember, O Lord, with mercy, the bishops in the day of wrath, who denied us the sacraments.

O product of YouTube, miserable.  May your ads cease as quickly as they appeared to us.

Blessed is he that shall take and dash your little cameras upon the rock.
