Flos Carmeli

For the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, a three-part setting of the sequence Flos Carmeli. This setting alternates a three-part homophonic texture with a chant-like melody with drone. I am releasing the score for use under the BY-NC-ND Creative Commons license. A free PDF download may be found at the bottom of this post.

  1. Michael,

Thank you for another lovely piece.

Quick question: is the lower part in the even verses intended as a kind of drone or ison? I’m trying to figure out what to do with the syllable “Ah”!
