Our premier episode of Drake’s Purgatorian Theater entitled, “The Case of the Falling Angel” is now live! In this tale, we hear the story of an heiress named Elizabeth, but you’ll need to see the video to find out more.
Format and Production
The series is styled after old time radio. It has a visual opening theme, however, something to watch while you listen, and closing credits. The musical themes are original compositions, one for string quartet, and the other for piano. My wife and I performed all of the voicing, with a bit of help from Audacity to raise or lower pitch for a few of the characters. The script is original.
We include several recurring elements in these episodes, including a plea to help the poor souls in purgatory. We also suggest joining the Purgatorian Archconfraternity, run by the Redemptorists.

Arrived here through IP5 and this is the first Episode I’ve listened to. I’ll be back to listen to the others – it appeals to me. It reminds me of the Murdoch Mysteries which we’ve been watching recently and Mr Steppington actually sounds like Constable George Crabtree! Funnily enough, I’ve just enrolled a lot of family members and friends in the Purgatorian Archconfraternity earlier this year – it’s a great blessing for those of us who can’t access the Traditional Church on Terra Firma. Prayers for you all.

When I voiced Mr. Steppington, I imagined him as a somewhat nervous person, so I’ll have to take a look at Constable Crabtree and see if there are similarities.
